WHAT ARE DEGREES FOR YOUNG LEARNERS?
There are three levels of English tests for children between the ages of 7 and 12. Each of the levels is based on linguistic skills: oral comprehension, written expression, oral expression and reading comprehension.
Starting to learn English at an early age gives children a great advantage for the rest of their lives. Participate in one of the courses Starters, Movers and Flyers, will increase confidence and form a solid foundation for your further studies.
At these levels students cannot “fail”. All children who take a Cambridge English test receive a diploma that shows, from 1 to 5 scudi, the level of acquisition of the skills worked on.
PREPARATION FOR THE CAMBRIDGE EXAMS IN CARTAGENA
A2
KEY – KEY ENGLISH TEST (A2)
The KEY is the first level of English exams offered by Cambridge. It has the same format as Young Learner Exams (Starters, Movers and Flyers) and corresponds to level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It corresponds more or less to the 1st and 2nd courses of the Official Language School. Everything is available in the “For schools” version, with topics adapted to young people's interests and base knowledge.
Those school-age students who have been studying English for a few years should be able to achieve this level during the 1st ESO stage.
B1
PRELIMINARY ENGLISH TEST (B1)
PRELIMINARY is an intermediate level exam (Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) whose certificate constitutes the minimum level required to access different jobs. The level is similar to that of the 3rd and 4th courses of the Official Language School.
Those students in the 3rd year of ESO who are serious about learning the English language should be able to reach this B1 level.
It is also available in the “For Schools” version for adolescents in both paper and electronic formats.
B2
FCE – FIRST CERTIFICATE IN ENGLISH (B2)
Closely close to the level required in the 5th and 6th courses of the Official Language School. This level certifies an upper-intermediate level English qualification in most situations within the field of business.
A good goal would be to pass the B2 or First Certificate level just before entering University. Therefore, those students who are aware of their performance and willing to make an effort who are in 1st or 2nd year of Baccalaureate would be excellent candidates.
This is the latest level of English that is also available in the 'for schools' version with topics related to teenagers. It is also available in paper and electronic formats.
C1
CAE – CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED ENGLISH (C1)
For advanced students who stand out above the majority with the high CAE level.
This is an exam that certifies an English qualification suitable for studying at Universities and Faculties anywhere in the world. Companies and employers will be assured that you can function in contexts that require effective use of the language, both spoken and written, in international business situations.

CPE – CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH (C2)
For advanced students who stand out above the majority with the high CAE level.
